Easiest state to get PT license from?

Postby poonamhiren » Mon Jul 02, 2012 3:16 pm

I am currently having my credentials reviewed for the state of Illinois by FCCPT. However, I have found that Indiana and PA (Pennsylvania) has less of requirements then Illinois. What is the easiest state to get a licence from? Michigan? New York? Indiana? Pennsylvania?

I heard NJ and Illinois require Masters Degree in PT. I have Bachelors from Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. Therefore, I would have to get a Masters before even considering Illinois.

Please help.

Well, it depends on where you actually want to work. NY is the easiest license to get, but the jobs there are scarce and if you need a work visa, you need a visascreen, which means you will still need to complete the make up credits even if you get a NY license in order to be able to work.

For Illinois, you need your credentialing to say that your schooling is "equivalent" to a Master's degree (you don't need the actual master's degree).

Just would like to clear the fact that foreing trained PTs do not need to have a master or DPT, the credential evaluation is based in an evaluation tool that evaluates PTS according to the year they got their degree, the criteria is if they graduated at the time that the entry level was a BS in PT that 's how the requirements are needed, if they graduated during the time of Master degree entry level and/or time of DPT entry level requirements will be according to that time frame. Check with fsbpt to request the evaluation tool so you can know accuarately what are the requirements you need.
