General discussion on how to obtain a license to work in the United States.

Florida state license

Postby bharuch2001 » Thu Jun 14, 2012 4:17 pm

Hello,
I am an Indian PT, licensed in NY for 3 years and Persuing tDPT currently.

I am planning to apply for PT license in Florida state. I was wondering do they still require TOEFL to obtain Pt license in FL state? I heard that from 2010 FL state dismissed English proficiency requirement for foreigne trained PT, is this still effective?

Also on FL state website it also states that if university provides letter stating that course instruction was in English then it waives TOEFL requirement. Has anyone experienced it?

I would really apreciate your input on this matter. Thank you.

TOEFL is needed for a Visascreen which is required to apply for a working or immigrant visa. If you do not need a visa (ie, you were filed on his immigrant visa) then you do not need TOEFL for Florida.
