I have been a jobless teacher in Michigan for the past five years and am highly interested in a career change to a PTA. I have spent time on the internet searching out this career and I believe I would truly be satisfied as a PTA. However, I have two major concerns that I feel are hindering me from moving forward. First I am 5ft 5 inches tall and 113 lbs. I am concerned that I won't be able to do the lifting, pushing, and pulling required. Secondly, it is against my religious convictions to wear pants. I wore a knee length, dress nurse uniform during a vocational nursing program in high school and didn't have a problem. I was also able to pull off substitute teaching preschool in skirts with no problem, but I don't know if I could pull this off with PTA work. I need advice! I really want to go back to school for PTA, but don't want to find after my hard work in school that I can't do what is required to be successful! That would be devastating, especially since it would be my third degree that has left me jobless. I can't afford to make another bad career choice.
