Crutches with changeable cuffs

Postby gaile » Mon Feb 11, 2008 10:13 am

From my short experience with crutches, I think it would be great to have a pear of crutches which have changeable cuffs - user could be able to change from fore-arm to under-arm? To be able to rest from one position. Because using one type is tiring enough...

Great idea gaile. I second that. I could almost imagine the temporary (yet great) relief that it would bring to patients that are using crutches. Such ideas could make a big difference for them. :)

Hi,
i am still on the elbow crutches after 9 weeks and i see your point for the 1st few weeks i was aching all over but then i decided to hit the gym afew times a week and get some upper body strenghth and after a wile i noticed i wasnt aching and looking for the next possible oppetunity to sit down every 5 mins, i was walking with my friends not telling them to wait, it was just the normal to me by then, only bad thins is....not carrying things is a pain. Not meaning to brag but i am a quiet fit person so i didnt suffer to bad but i can only imadgine how hard it would get if your unfit to start with and then get lumbered with a injury requireing crutches. This is a realy good idea i think you should sugest it to manufactures and also the hospital next time your there (hopefully you will never need to be there :D)
regards,
craig
